CERTIFICAÇÃO RAINFOREST ALLIANCE CERTIFIED IMPLANTADA EM UMA PROPRIEDADE CAFEEIRA NO MUNICÍPIO DE MACHADO-MG

Abstract

Para o Brasil, a cafeicultura se constitui como uma das maiores fontes de riqueza, pois é uma das principais atividades econômicas do país e é gerada pelo crescente aumento de seu consumo anualmente, tanto em âmbito nacional, como mundial. Sua importância socioeconômica é de extrema importância, pois entre os produtores até o consumidor final, envolvem milhares de empregos. Pelo fato do café por ser uma commodity, é dependente das cotações ocorridas nas bolsas de valores, acarretando sua oscilação e a incerteza do preço adquirido para sua comercialização, assim, para os cafeicultores ao realizarem um planejamento em longo prazo, sem saber se irá obter o retorno do investimento feito em sua propriedade é dificultado. Atualmente, as exigências dos consumidores em torno da segurança alimentar crescem constantemente, pois devido a globalização, estão mais preocupados em obterem a informação sobre os produtos que estão consumindo, e como recompensa ao atendimento a essa exigência, pagam-se mais para adquirir esses produtos, surge um segmento de mercado em que exige-se pela rastreabilidade e a qualidade, e o café insere-se como um desses. A certificação favorece a comercialização, afirmando a garantia de origem e qualidade do produto final. Consequentemente um café certificado terá seu valor agregado, pois sua produção irá atender aos requisitos do mercado, e para os produtores, garantirá sua rentabilidade e sustentabilidade. Baseado nesses princípios, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo identificar a importância da certificação para as propriedades cafeeiras, realizando um estudo de caso em uma fazenda com certificado Rainforest Alliance Certified no município de Machado-MG.

For Brazil, the coffee is considered like one of the greatest sources of wealth, because it is one of the main economic activities in the country and is generated by increasing consumption each year, both nationally, and globally. Its social importance is extremely important, because among the growers ate final consumers, involve thousands of jobs. By the fact coffee is a commodity, is dependent on the prices that occurred in the stock market, causing its fluctuation and uncertainty of the price obtained for their marketing, so for growers to realize a long-term planning, without knowing whether they will get a return on investment in their properties, is difficult. Currently, the demands of consumers around the food security grow steadily, because due the globalization, they’re more concerned to get information about the products that they are consuming, and for to reward to meeting this demand, the consumers pay more to purchase these products, come to light a market segment that is required for the traceability and quality, and coffee falls as one of those. The certification promotes the sale, saying the guarantee of origin and the quality of final product. Consequently coffee certified will have yours aggregate value, because its production will meet the requirements of the market, and for the producers, will ensure its profitability and sustainability. Based on these principles, this study aimed to identify the importance of certification for the coffee farms, performing a case study on a farm with certified Rainforest Alliance Certified in the Machado city, state of Minas Gerais.
